Baotou Research Institute of Rare Earths and National Engineering Research Center of Rare Earth Metallurgy and Functional Materials are pleased to host Thermag ¢ô (The 4th International Conference on Magnetic Refrigeration at Room Temperature). The conference will make in-depth discussion on magnetocaloric effect materials, magnetic refrigerator and magnetic field source used in magnetic refrigeration, etc. Welcome researchers and engineers on engineering technology research, experts in refrigeration related industry and investors and entrepreneurs who are interested in magnetic refrigeration to participate in the conference.
Refrigeration technology is widely used today. However, traditional vapor compression/expansion refrigeration technology has some disadvantages, such as low conversion efficiency of vapor compressor, and generation of the gas depletion ozonosphere and greenhouse effect gas, etc. While, magnetic refrigeration is a new refrigeration technology with huge potential application prospect, characterized by high efficiency, energy saving and environmental friendly.
Development of magnetic refrigeration technology has high dependence on rare earths today. NdFeB rare earth permanent magnet is preferred by researchers for its high performance to price ratio, small volume and energy saving properties. Key materials having magnetocalotic effect contain rare earths as well, such as gadolinium metal, Gd5Si2Ge2 and La(Fe,Si)13. Baotou is the hometown of rare earths. The world famous rare earth ore, which is the largest in the world, situates in Baotou. Besides, Baotou has the global largest rare earth separation line and rare earth metals production line. When you come to Baotou, it gives you an opportunity to touch rare earths that brings miracles to high technology and new environmental friendly technology. The conference will supply a platform to scientists, researchers, engineers, entrepreneurs and investors to communicate and discuss developing trends of the most updated technology on magnetic refrigeration.
