Baotou situates in the north of China with longitude 109¦Ï50 ¡ä ~ 111o25 ¡ä E and latitude 41o20 ¡ä ~ 42o40 ¡ä N, bordering the Mongolian People's Republic in the north and facing the Yellow River in the south. Genghis Khan's Mausoleum
Genghis Khan, "Khan of Khans", was the great leader of Mongolians. At the end of 12th century, he united Mongolian tribes and challenged other powers to expand his huge Mongolian empire, which extended from South China to the Caspian Sea .
In 1277, Khan attacked the West Xia Kingdom (presently Ningxia) and encountered strong resistance. He died of disease and age. The great emperor was later buried secretly according to Mongolian custom. It says that after the burial 2,000 men were slaughtered by some 800 soldiers who were in turn executed so that the location of the real tomb remains a secret.
Genghis Khan's Mausoleum, rebuilt in 1954 185 kilometers south of Baotou , is a mausoleum, in which only his clothing is buried in memory of the great leader. The 5.5 hectares mausoleum includes three giant yurt halls which house coffins of the Khan, his wife, his son and his generals.
There are four sacrifice ceremonies held annually to commemorate the great hero and leader of the Mongolian people. The ceremony, held on March 21st on lunar calendar, is the grandest. After the ceremony, horse racing, archery and wrestling are held as entertainment.
The Great Wall of the Qin Dynasty
The Great Wall of the Qin Dynasty, standing along the Yinshan Mountains , located 80 kilometers to Baotou city, was built in 214 BC when the first emperor Qin Shihuang ruled China . It prolongs 5,000 kilometers in total, and nearly 120 kilometers passes through Baotou territory. Qin Greatwall is recognized as a world historical cultural heritage and an important national protected cultural relic. Outer wall is over 4 meters in height, 4 meters' width of the base and 2 meters' width at the top. Most of the relic was constructed on the north slope of the mountain. It is a mixed construction of stone and earth. The remains of the Great Wall are well maintained.

The Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor is about 30km from Xi'an at the base of the mountain Li. It's the mausoleum of the emperor who first unified China and was built in 246-208 BC more than two thousand years ago. It's the first emperor mausoleum in China with the total area of 56.25 square kilometers. The terracotta figures which are a collection of 8,099 life-size terra cotta figures of warriors and horses were buried with the first Emperor of Qin in 210-209 BC. The terracotta figure is one of the Eight Wonders of the World.
The Expo 2010 Shanghai China is the 41st World Exposition lasted from May 1st to October 31st with the total days of 184. It's the first World Exposition held by China.
